Who Signs

A revenue-cycle company prepares claims, posts payments and sends appeals. It holds no law license, so nothing it sends carries a lawyer’s signature. When Eliot Dear builds a New York State IDR submission from the EOB, the operative note and the billed charges, he reviews it and signs it under his bar number. The physician knows exactly who signed the filing, and that person is a lawyer.
